Flicker

About a month ago I had the chance to enjoy a performance by Tony Conrad at Cafe Oto in London, which was a memorable experience. Unfortunately, I don't have any video or pictures to share with you. However, I have added an excerpts video of his experimental film "Flicker", and an other sample video with La Monte Young, Maria Zazeela, and Angus MacLise of the masterpiece "Inside the Dream House". Session IV

After some time I have posted some tracks mainly in the ambient, experimental, and electro-acoustic spectrum. Two of the tracks are from the latest Tim Hecker's album "Ravedeath, 1972" under the title "In the Air" and I thought it would be better to add them all so as to provide a more comprehensive picture. However, part I is missing because I couldn't upload it. Hope you enjoy!

Soundwalkers

Below I have posted a documentary filmed by the Portuguese video director and sound researcher Raquel Castro. It is a very interesting documentary with many references in every day sounds, the public space, urbanism, ecology, but I think the most characteristic part of this particular of this documentary are the statements of common people about how the sound interferes with their lives, their activities and the society as a whole.
However, there are also short interviews with artists, musicians, composers architects, professors such as Christoph Cox, Janek Schaefer and many many others, who describe how important it is to notice the sounds we hear in our lives.

Should We Teach Experimental Music to Children?

A few months ago I uploaded some information about the Dis-Patch festival and the workshop on "Kids and electronic music". In relation to my previous post, I have included some stuff from the record label and on-line magazine Intransitive that is dedicated to electronic, experimental and electro-acoustic music that has initiated a conversation with four artists asking if "Should we teach experimental music to children?". The artists who answered to this question are: Jon Mueller - drummer and percussionist, David Dove - bass player and music teacher in new exploration methods in music, composer Lionel Marchetti, and Vic Rawlings - musician and teacher.
